Tallahassee, FL -- A Florida State University student was robbed by three men at about 7 p.m. Friday night at the pedestrian tunnel near DeGraff Hall on campus, according to the FSU police. The student was knocked down and the men searched his belongings. The men then ran away. Anyone with information is asked to call the FSU police at 850-644-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 850-891-HELP.

On November 13, several student groups at the University of Florida (UF) held a viewing and a panel discussion of the documentary Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West. Fliers advertising the event (which had been repeatedly torn down by free-speech-loving liberals) contained the phrase “Radical Islam Wants You Dead.” Now the university’s administration is demanding an apology from the five hosting student organizations: College Republicans, Law School Republicans, the Jewish Law Students Association, the Jewish Student Union and Gators for Israel. This is likely the direct result of Islam on Campus’s lobbying the highest-ranking UF officials, including President Bernie Machen, for an investigation into the event and its advertising. FGCU softball coach fights dismissal

Gina Ramacci, the former assistant softball coach at Florida Gulf Coast University has filed a complaint with the university citing violations of both Title IX and Title VII. Ramacci, who technically was not fired, rather her contract was not renewed, and her lawyer are saying that the investigation FGCU did into alleged misconduct (as reported by a student-athlete and her mother) of a sexual nature with a (different) student-athlete found no evidence of wrongdoing. The two Florida Gulf Coast University students accused of hosting an underage drinking party the night an intoxicated classmate died in a car wreck are set to go on trial in early January.

The trial date of Jan. 8 was set Friday morning for Nicholas Herrig and Kevin Curtin, both 19, a week after both students faced related disciplinary hearings at the school, Curtin's attorney said. Herrig and Curtin are charged with one count each of violating the state's "open house party" statute, which makes it a misdemeanor offense to knowingly allow underage drinking in a home.
